Gas Lipstick (ex-HIM, Flat Earth) joined us at Finnvox for the drum recordings. Throughout the weekend he was constantly tuning and adjusting Ossi’s drums to ensure that the recordings were flawless. The drum tracks and arrangements of these songs are so much more intricate than anything we have done before. We had been talking to @johnnyxjonas for years about writing together and finally made it happen. At our very first session with Joonas, we instantly clicked and wrote two songs together that would become some of the biggest on the album. Joonas pushed us to try new things (clean vocals 😉), write better guitar riffs, and more complex drum parts. Finnvox studios, one of the most renowned studios in Finland, is where we began our recording process. The entire time we were there, we couldn’t help but think of how many legendary Finnish bands and artists had poured out their souls in the very same room that we sat in. Our drum team was made up of @braindeadsamy , @ossipaananen , @johnnyxjonas , and @gas_lipstick_official (EX-HIM, Flat Earth) who spent a packed weekend recording percussion at Finnvox Studios. The great chemistry between Ossi and Joonas made it possible to make every drum fill as good as the riff it’s on top of. When we first started writing, the possibility of an outside co-writer who could “squeeze everything out of us” came up. At first we didn’t know what to think of this, we had always gone from the very beginning of songwriting to the studio by ourselves. When we sat down with @johnnyxjonas and composed 2 songs together, we knew that THIS was our guy. When we started recording the vocals for the new album we created a laid back atmosphere in the studio: inspiring scenery, space to unwind, no rush for time, and no stuffy formalities. We felt that the best vocal performance would come from eliminating the barrier between band and producer. Recording sessions took place in the control room (as opposed to a traditional singing booth) so that the pointers making each verse, chorus, and line absolutely perfect could be given face-to-face. 💀 NEW SINGLE ”Deliver Me” OUT NOW - Link to stream/buy in our bio 💀 #LostSociety #DeliverMe #NoAbsolution
